Goal #1 2013
One thing I would like to accomplish for 2013 is get our meals out of a rut. It seems that I cook the same thing over and over and we get burnt out. My family knows that once a week we will have spaghetti. I know it is one meal that I always have ingrediants to and that I can have it whipped up in a matter of minutes and the main thing is I know my family will eat it well!!
That being said, I have burnt my family out on spaghetti and numerous other things. So for 2013 I want to try one new recipe a week. It can come from and friend, cookbook or my favorite, Pinterest.
So this weeks new recipe was Cheesy Vegetable Chowder off of Pinterest. It was a hit. My boys sucked it down. Although I did tweak it a little bit to make it to our tasting!! I didn't use flour in it like it asked for and I used velvetta instead of cheddar cheese and I put diced ham on the top of it once our bowls were fixed! It was a delightful soup for the cold days ahead!!
* I have tried numerous times to get a picture to download. It is not working for me today. But here is a link to the recipe.

New Year 2013
New Year's Eve was very relaxing. We never go and do anything fancy. We stay home and have just a regular night. Caden made it to 9:30 and then Matt had to cart him off to bed. He said he couldn't take it any longer. Case made it to 10 and then Matt had to take him to bed. Poor Matt gets all the heavy lifting! Then on New Year's Day I got up and made black eyed peas and hog jowl and chicken spaghetti for lunch. My mom and dad came up to enjoy the meal with us and get in on the black eyed pea good luck! Hopefully luck will be better for 2013.
I always do New Year's resolutions only to break them within a week's time so this year is no resolutions. Scratch that......I want to be more organized. Haha Oh and of course loose weight. Whose New Year's resolution doesn't consist of that one!
Christmas 2012
Christmas 2012 was a little chaotic and at times stressful. My goal next year is to be less stressed out and laid back and go with the flow of things. The boys got what was on their list which was a WII. That is all they wanted and so Santa was sure to bring it to them.
Caden's top lip is blue due to gatorade that he is addicted to. Ha
Sweet boys. Christmas Eve night they snuggled together by the tree so I could take my yearly photo of them.
The flash totally messes with their eyes!! LOL
We made homemade cookies for Santa. After the rolling of dough and the boys cutting out their favorite shapes I realized that I took absolutely no photos! What is wrong with me? I am slacking....
Look Santa also left some nice toothbrushes for the boys. No more cavities please! He also ate cookies and drank his milk.
Christmas morning started early. It wasn't even light outside yet. But we got up anyways because I once was little and couldn't wait for my parents to wake up!
That about sums up our Christmas. I hope everyone had a awesome Christmas like us!
