The Love of Brothers!

The last few days we can't keep Case away from Caden. He is constantly concerned about him and wanting to give hugs and kisses. It is so surprising that he is so protective of him and that he loves him so much! PRAYERS ANSWERED! Case is a wonderful BIG BROTHER!

Welcome Caden!

Caden Brooks Davis
September 11, 2007
7 lbs 6 oz
19 1/2

We arrived at the hospital at 7 am and at 9:30 am we were heading back for what we thought would be a routine c-section. At 10:37 we welcomed Caden Brooks into the world. His cry was so beautiful to finally hear. Sounds crazy but I have wanted to hear it for so long. But as routine as things can be it can turn into something serious. I started to get very nauseous, lightheaded, and out of breath. All things common with an epidural so I was just bearing with it hoping they would hurry up. But to my surprise it wasn't the epidural, my uterus was hemorraging and they couldn't stop my bleeding. I knew something was serious wrong when they told Matt to sign a piece of paper and leave the OR. I was terrified! But everything turned out fine. I had a partial hysterectomy. Thankfully Caden was ok and I have God to thank for that. Caden is doing wonderful and putting on weight fast! Case loves "his baby" very much. He loves to give him kisses and tickle him. I know that every child is a gift from God but Caden is truly an example of that. The doctor told me that I am very lucky to have my life and Caden's b/c at any time during the pregnancy my uterus could have ruptured! So I want to thank everybody for all of the thoughts and prayers. And most of all thank God for giving me such a precious gift!

The Time is Finally Here!

The time has finally arrived for Baby Davis to make his/her appearance! We have to be in Little Rock in the morning at 7. So I doubt I will get much sleep tonight worrying about Case and the surgery. Send up many prayers for us b/c I had to take Case to the doctor today for fever and a mysterious bellyache that he complained with all day yesterday and last night. Dr. Hord said everything looks fine so I hope that it stays that way. And send up lots of extra prayers for me b/c I am scared to death of having another c-section.
We will post new pics of Baby Davis whenever we get home and settled in. We are super excited to get to share him/her with everybody! :)

What a Big Boy!

Last night we worked on getting the baby's furniture together. What a headache that caused! But thankfully we had the help of Case! He was super excited about helping us put it together. Everytime we brought another box into the nursery he was ripping it open and wanting his papaw's help! It took alot longer but it was sweet that he wanted to help, so we made sure we included him in every step! (which was alot)!!

Our carpet is going to be laid in the new room on Tuesday and then we will be finished with it! YEAH! All the dust from everything has Matt and Case sick. I took them to the doctor last week and they both have bronchitis and are on antibiotics.

10 more days and we will get to meet Baby Davis! I am so ready b/c I am getting to where I can't walk, I WADDLE as Matt would say! Hopefully by then we will have everything ready and everybody will be feeling better AND RICE WILL BE CUT! :)
