Welcome Caden!

Caden Brooks Davis
September 11, 2007
7 lbs 6 oz
19 1/2

We arrived at the hospital at 7 am and at 9:30 am we were heading back for what we thought would be a routine c-section. At 10:37 we welcomed Caden Brooks into the world. His cry was so beautiful to finally hear. Sounds crazy but I have wanted to hear it for so long. But as routine as things can be it can turn into something serious. I started to get very nauseous, lightheaded, and out of breath. All things common with an epidural so I was just bearing with it hoping they would hurry up. But to my surprise it wasn't the epidural, my uterus was hemorraging and they couldn't stop my bleeding. I knew something was serious wrong when they told Matt to sign a piece of paper and leave the OR. I was terrified! But everything turned out fine. I had a partial hysterectomy. Thankfully Caden was ok and I have God to thank for that. Caden is doing wonderful and putting on weight fast! Case loves "his baby" very much. He loves to give him kisses and tickle him. I know that every child is a gift from God but Caden is truly an example of that. The doctor told me that I am very lucky to have my life and Caden's b/c at any time during the pregnancy my uterus could have ruptured! So I want to thank everybody for all of the thoughts and prayers. And most of all thank God for giving me such a precious gift!
